Protecting your spawn

There's various ways that you can protect your spawn and other builds on your server from being griefed.

This will introduce you to three methods.

1) WorldGuard: The most customizable, you are able to create 'regions' that have various different 'flags'.
A region is a protected area, and the following are examples of flags you could use (there's many more):
- PvP
- Build
- Mob-spawning
To use WorldGuard, you need to use WorldEdit to select the two corners of your region. Make sure you're selecting the top right corner and the bottom left. Then, do /rg create <name>, so for example /rg create Spawn
After that, you can do /rg flag Spawn <flag> <Allow/Deny>, so if you wanted to turn PvP off in Spawn, you could do /rg flag Spawn PvP deny. A full list of Flags and a more in depth tutorial can be found here and here.

2) Factions: The easiest to use. All you need to do with Factions is either /f claim Safezone, or /f claim Warzone if you want to protect a PvP area.

3) GriefPrevention: GriefPrevention is the best of both worlds, essentially having all the WorldGuard anti-grief flags automatically used when you make a GriefPrevention region. Griefprevention is best for Towny and peaceful servers as it can also allow players to make these claims, though you can remove this feature if your server is a Factions or griefing server. Learn more how to use it here.
